About

Students participating in this once in a lifetime opportunity will earn 24 hours of community service doing work in Santiago, DR. Over the course of 9 days, students will work as a group in comedores that serve elementary-age children in the Santiago area in order to create a positive and lasting impact in the community. Most students participating in this experience have opted to participate in this short-term study abroad service-learning experience for 3 course credits by registering for the Service Learning Seminar in Africana Studies (AFST 11310).

This international service learning trip is made possible with sponsorship from the EOF/MAP Program, the International Center, the Office of Orientation and Student Leadership, and the Office of Social Justice, Inclusion, and Conflict Resolution.
